Leading Arts and Crafts Sculptor, metalworker, enamellist and writer.  National scholar at South Kensington Schools 1884-1886.  He was awarded a traveling scholarship to study enameling in France and Italy, and set up an enameling workshop on his return.  From 1896-1898 he taught at LCC Central School of Arts and Crafts, under the joint principals W.R. Lethaby and George Frampton, where he met and collaborated with Henry Wilson.  He set up his own school in Kensington in 1904.  He exhibited at the Royal Academy, with the Arts and Crafts Exhibition Society and at many international exhibitions.  He also wrote a number of articles on the art of enameling.
