Founded by Louis Comfort Tiffany, with Samuel Colman, a Hudson River painter and specialist in colour, Lockwood de Forest for carved and ornamental woodwork and Candace Wheeler as textile specialist. During its four-year existence Associated Artists executed a number of grand commissions, including the redecoration of four rooms in The White House and various clubs and residences. In 1884 the partnership was dissolved, but Candace Wheeler remained in business until 1907.
